Larry Rackley is an internationally recognized artist, whose work serves as the iconic emblem for Yellowfin Unlimited.

About the artist:

“Larry Rackley is a big personality with an old soul. Meeting him feels a lot like talking to your childhood best friend again. Southern through and through, he grew up in Birmingham after a family move from his native Charlotte. He spent summers on the Gulf Coast, where the scenery and critters there inspired a lifelong love of the sea. A perpetual outdoorsman even as a kid, Larry loves fish, horses and dogs – probably in that order.

Larry served in the U.S. Marine Corps in the late ‘90s – a conflicting experience for a laid-back, “live and let live” kind of guy. The intensity of his experience as a marine greatly impacted his desire to pursue a career that brought positivity and light into others’ live and his own.

He wrestled briefly with enrolling in law school or getting into property development – dull prospects for a man defined by sun and water. Not one to choose the beaten path, Larry pursued art and coastal life in Sandestin, Florida. That decision led to his happiness and success. In 2007, he had made enough of a name for himself as an artist to open the first Yellowfin Gallery in Birmingham, AL. His gallery location followed him on a move to San Destin, FL, and he now has other locations in Florida and Texas.

A crackerjack artist who always has a paintbrush in one hand a drink in the other, Larry is distinct in his ability to paint his masterpieces live in front of any audience. He continues to be featured in international shows and publications, with a fan base full of some famous faces as well as private art appreciators.

If the shorelines are the place Larry feels most at home, then his farm and woods are home-away-from-home. So it’s no wonder he works to keep these spaces safe and beautiful, contributing to such conservation organizations as The Costal Conservation Association, Ducks Unlimited, National Wild Turkey Federation and The Billfish Foundation.”
